Haven't been to Kufuya for over 10 years as there lots of other Shabu and Hot Pot options closer to home. A birthday brought me back and despite the many years away, Kufuya has stayed consistently good. We decided on All you can eat that included, choice of miso or tonkotsu soup with unlimited Rib Eye Steak, Lamb, Udon, Glass noodle, Tofu, Napa cabbage, Spinach and Mushroom. Their secret sauce that causes my friends to return every year comes with garlic, daikon, green onions and chili. Service was attentive and quick. Not once did we have request refills. The quality of meat was really good. I loved the thinly sliced meat. Even when accidentally forgotten and overcooked, the meat was still tender. Although there isn't a large variety, this allows them to keep the high quality in their small selection. Many plates of meat later, we all left stuffed and satisfied.
We all really liked it. We got both broths, spicy, and all five us got the all you can eat. Service is outstanding. They kept bringing refills of everything and always asking if we wanted more. The quality of the meat and veggies was excellent. The only negative is there isnt a lot of variety. I would have liked fish, for example. It's pretty much, beef or lamb, some spinach, cabbage, mushrooms and tofu Noodles It averages about $50 per person with tax and tip,
My wife and I have been coming here for years!! We celebrate our birthdays, anniversaries, and any other excuse to come here. Julie and Lisa are the kindest and they make us feel at home every time we come. The sauce is so addicting!! Thanks so much guys! Miguel and Stephanie
Yo, I hit up Kufūya for my birthday, and it was straight fire from jump. The spot's got mad chill vibes, perfect for kickin' it with the homies or family. The beef and lamb here? Straight up lit. Hella fresh and juicy, every bite was bangin'. The broths were off the chain too, especially that spicy miso and creamy tonkotsu. Flavor game strong. Service was on point. The staff were super cool, always there to hook you up with recommendations and tips. They made my birthday dinner hella special. You can tell they love what they do. Kufūya's got everything on lock, from the bomb presentation to the dope dipping sauces. They really thought of everything to make your shabu-shabu sesh next level. Plus, they got a parking lot, so no stress about finding a spot. Just roll up and grub. Overall, Kufūya is a straight-up gem. Bomb food, killer service, and good vibes all around. Celebrating my birthday here was the move. Can't wait to slide through again!
Came here on a Thursday night, there was no wait. Our servers, Lisa (I believe this was her name) and I forget the other, were on top of getting our AYCE plates of meat to us. Once they saw our plate finished, they immediately went back into the kitchen to get another one out to us. Their meat quality is consistent and delicious. You only get to choose from Beef and Lamb, there is no Pork. There is a private parking lot that you can park in. And yes, you can block the other cars. They will make an announcement in the restaurant when they need a car moved. The restaurant and the bathroom were clean and they had the Warrior's game playing on the TVs with the audio. Lastly, their sauce they have is CRACK. Don't sleep on this. I've tried asking what was in it but they would not tell me. Enjoy!
My friend and her boyfriend took us to this spot. While the food was decent, I would say it's pricey for the amount of food. It was a very limited AYCE menu. I thought it was $32 by looking at the other Yelp reviews, but it was actually about $35 because of the 1 bowl of rice they charge for $3. The broth was flavorful and had just the right amount of spicy. I just wish they had the option of 2 broths instead of just 1 in a pot. I was disappointed at the lack of meat and vegetables included in the AYCE, but the ribeye and lamb were very soft. My boyfriend and I were not really impressed with the "famous crack sauce." I liked that you could add stuff into the sauce, but we thought the sauce was vinegary. I would taste the peanut sauce for a second and a vinegar taste followed after. The service is really good here because they kept the AYCE meat and vegetables coming one plate after another, so that was nice. However, my boyfriend and I would probably choose another place with more AYCE options.
Friends and I love coming here for Shabu! The restaurant is not that big but will be able to accommodate large parties as long as you reserve well in advance. It does get a bit noisy as your meal progresses because liquid courage and a good time does that so it's never a dole moment dining here. I believe you can order single plates but I've only ever came for AYCE. The beef quality has been continuously buttery smooth with fresh veggies on the side. Sushi rolls and Hand rolls are a solid change in palate from land to sea. It gets busy on certain nights so service may fall off just a tad; however, if you are one of the earlier parties of the night, service is impeccable with plates of meat rolling out nonstop. Highly recommend coming here SUPER hungry for AYCE, you will not leave disappointed!!
I love Kufuya! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is excellent. I typically lean towards their Sushi and the AYCE hot pot which is both very filling & more affordable than most other shabu spots, making it a great value for the money. This was the first place I can remember that offered both Japanese cuisine and AYCE hot pot under one roof so they are an early trailblazer in this genre. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, making it a great place to go with friends or family since they are one of the more spacious restaurants in the area to handle groups. I've also ordered catered sushi platters and have gotten many compliments for them at parties. Overall, I highly recommend Kufuya Japanese Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and affordable Japanese meal or AYCE hot pot.
Beautiful New MENU design! Still PHENOMENAL Shabu Shabu and still same awesome family/staff who work here. Lalalalove it!!!
Can't go wrong with some ayce shabu at this spot. Service was excellent, even though one plate came out at once, it was always replaced before we had a chance to finish everything in the pot. Really loved that there were thai chilis here as I love my dipping sauce spicy ! Downside was the lack of options. There was no divider for the pot so it was just one broth throughout the entire meal. Missing enoki mushrooms and pork but hey, it is slightly cheaper here for ayce.
